In 1619 the Europeans started a terrible trade know as slave trade. Selling Africans as slaves to go work in farmlands in America. This was an act against humanity. To these slave traders, the lives of these people who they were trading like animals mattered very little. They viewed these people they were trading as inferior because of the difference in skin color. These slaves were all black and as such were viewed as animals not humans. This slavery brought untold suffering to the black race. Although slavery was abolished in 1863, after Abraham Lincoln issued his emancipation proclamation, the scared it left on the black community is still visible a hundred and fifty years later.
