Dead Poets Society is a great representative of transcendental thoughts. The movie shows important characteristics including nonconformity, self-reliance, and confidence. A lot of nonconformity was showed throughout the movie. Todd, one of the boys in the class, was new to the academy. His brother was very successful there. Todd, showing nonconformity, didn’t know anyone and was very quiet. Many of the boys were uncomfortable in the beginning of the movie.
