The theme of death can either be written in a creepy morbid way or it can be written in a way that makes it seem like a strong thing but not necessarily a horrible dark thing. Three different poems talk about death in a oddly strange way. “Death be not proud”, written by Johnne Donne, I heard a fly buzz, when I died”, written by Emily Dickinson, and “Because I could not stop for death”, also written by Emily Dickinson. All three of these poems show death in an unusual way, it is either about the deepness and goodness of death, the odd sounds you hear before death, or death being written as a friend.
