The Decimal System Is a numeration system based on powers of 10. A number is written as a row of digits, with each position in the row corresponding to a certain power of 10. A decimal point in the row divides it into those powers of 10 equal to or greater than 0 and those less than 0, i.e., negative powers of 10. Positions farther to the left of the decimal point correspond to increasing positive powers of 10 and those farther to the right to increasing negative powers, i.e., to division by higher positive powers of 10. It is believed that the decimal system is based on 10 because humans have 10 fingers and so became used to counting by 10s early in the course of civilization. The decimal system was introduced into Europe c.1300. It greatly simplified arithmetic and was a much-needed improvement over the Roman numerals, which did not use a positional system. A number written in the decimal system is called a decimal, although sometimes this term is used to refer only to a proper fraction written in this system and not to a mixed number. Decimals are added and subtracted in the same way as are integers (whole numbers) except that when these operations are written in columnar form the decimal points in the column entries and in the answer must all be placed one under another. In multiplying two decimals the operation is the same as for integers except that the number of decimal places in the product, i.e., digits to the right of the decimal point, is equal to the sum of the decimal places in the factors; e.g., the factor 7.24 to two decimal…

Back in the Sixties, DEC invented the minicomputer as a challenger to the massive and expensive mainframes pioneered by IBM. (The age of minicomputers is long past, and DEC itself is history.) To ensure that no software could possibly be moved from an IBM mainframe to a DEC minicomputer, DEC designed its machines to understand only numbers expressed in base 8.
Let's think about that for a moment, given our experience with the Martians. In base 8, there must be eight digits. DEC was…

Bowl Championship Series vs. Bracket System
All divisions of college football use a playoff bracket system except for Division 1A. This has brought a lot of controversy towards that division. The controversy is mainly because of the massive amounts of money that is raised by the bowl games has overshadowed which teams truly deserve an appearance in the National Championship game. There are many good and bad things about having each system. Each system has benefits that make them stand out but…
1. Assuming that the distribution is normal for weight relative to the ideal and 99% of the male participants scored between (-53.68, 64.64), where did 95% of the values for weight relative to the ideal lie? Round you answer to two decimal places.
Answer: The mean is 5.48 and the standard deviation is 22.93
Mean ± 1.96(Deviation)
5.48 ± 1.96(22.93)
5.48 - 1.96(22.93) = 5.48 - 44.94 = (-39.46)
5.48 + 1.96(22.93) = 5.48 + 44.94 = 50.42

This system includes all bones ans joints of the human body. All bones of the human body are made up of lots of cells, protein fibers and also minerals. The skeleton is their to support the bones and also to protect the tissues that are also in the body. This system also has points for muscles for joints to move. red bone marrow inside of each bone helps create new blood cells. All of the bones also hold calcium, iron, and energy to help create fat. The skeletal system grows all…
distribution piping system, it is important to know how much water pressure is lost as the fluid flows through the pipe. The pressure loss depends on the length of the pipe which is often measured in miles. One formula that is sometimes used to calculate pressure loss requires that the pipe length be input in feet. Therefore, it is necessary to be able to convert miles to feet.
In other situations, you may be forced to work between the SI and U S Customary measurement systems. Say, for example…
Client Case: Treatment Interventions
Client Case: Treatment Interventions
The purpose of this paper is to identify one family systems model and one non-systems model that can be applied to the Gallagher family’s treatment. The contents of this paper will describe the theoretical orientation of the models and their application to the Gallagher case. Included in the paper will be the basic concepts of each model and a description of interventions used within the model. The paper will also entail…
