Although the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were written for different purposes, they are very similar. They have many things in common, talking about freedom for people. The Declaration of Independence states freedom for the people, by the people, not being biased, it shows the point of view from everyone. The Constitution states all the freedoms everyone has.

Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence to bring to everyone’s attention of the bad the King was doing, being selfish and only caring for himself. He explained there all the bad actions the King was doing and said that there are unalienable rights that are life, and people need to pursue happiness.“...they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”(lines 9 & 10 of the Declaration of Independence). And later when the Constitution was written, the authors had to make sure things like those won’t happen again. And so they wrote The Bill of Rights, which 10 of the Amendments in there were rights based on the Declaration of

That’s why the sixth amendment of the Bill of rights was written, to allow people to have the right of at trial.
“For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of a trial by jury…” (line 75 of the Declaration of Independence).
“ Amendment VI: In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial…” ( lines 51 & 52 of the Bill of Rights).

There were a lot of things that people went through before the Independence, the King abused of his power and do what he wanted. People should be grateful for the Bill of Rights, because now the United states is a Country of Freedom where people can pursue
