Declining Turnout In Canada

This paper will be looking at answering these two questions. Who or what is to blame for the declining turnout in Canadian federal elections? And, how serious is the problem? By using an Elections Canada article by Jon H. Pammett, and Lawrence LeDuc, a Samara democracy report by multiple authors, a book by Henry Milner, as well as information from Statistics Canada, and Elections Canada, I attempt to reveal the current major causes for the declining turnout in Canada. From these articles and my own experience I have found that discontent with politicians, as well as sub-optimal education of politics to the public are the two major reasons for the declining turnout in the Canadian federal elections.
