By definition a hero is a man distinguished by exceptional courage, nobility, and selflessness. All of these things are true, but they are not like to super heroes that we see on television. Heroes are people we see every day. A person who is selfless will go out of their way to help a person without expecting anything in return. They are also courageous and will go through anything to make sure someone has their wellbeing. A hero is noble, they go above and beyond to make the world a better place a little bit at a time. A hero that is selfless could simply be someone who gives a homeless person clothes and food. They do it solely for the purpose of making someone’s day better and they do not expect anything in return. Another example would be a Mother or Father giving up their time and money to make sure their child is well taken care of. They do it out of love and not because they get anything out of it. If a person goes out of their way to help someone and just to receive praise for it, then they are not a hero. They just seek attention and praise, instead of seeking to make the world better. …show more content…
A well-known example of a courageous hero is a firefighter or a police officer. These people put their lives on the line every day, with very little pay to ensure that we have our safety. They will go into the most dangerous situations in order to stop it and try to make sure no one will get hurt. Fireman will walk into a burning house to save anyone who may be stuck in there, so they do not burn and die. Police officers will go after any dangerous criminal and try to stop them so they cannot go out and hurt others. They do not do it for the money, they do it simply because they love helping
