When the scene starts the camera is being moved on tracts from left to right showing these women being dehumanized by having their hair cut. this was known to have happened and when the women were told to go into the rooms to have a shower to have a shower. This action here is where a lot of criticism for the scene occurs. The prisoners in Schindler’s List have a sense of fear for their lives when the they are brought into the showers. They believe to have been brought into a gas chamber, and the audiences is lead to believe the same thing. However, this is where the inaccuracies and the drama for entertainment occurs. This scene is inaccurate because the prisoners would not have been aware that they were heading into the gas chambers prior to entering it. The way the concentration and in particular the death camps were effective because the victim were brought into the gas chambers completely unaware of what was going to happen. In this scene the women start to panic which implies that the women had knowledge of their fate once they were brought inside the shower. This was done to bring out an emotion to the audience. Once water comes pouring out instead of gas the audience gets a sense of relief, knowing that the prisoners are not being killed. …show more content…
In Schindler’s List one is able to notice the heroism of the men and the eroticized frail objectification of women. It seems that women’s roles as rescuers is non existent, and there is a dominative masculine heroism. As the movie progresses this becomes more prevalent that women are subordinate them to masculine interests. This making women frail and men strong is very fairy tale like and false but in the movie industry, emotion is easily drawn from helpless women and children rather than helpless
