The second tradition associated with El Día de los Muertos are sugar skulls. Sugar skulls used to be symbolized for the people who were killed as sacrifices. The Mexicans also didn’t have much money, but they did have a lot of sugar that’s why it became so popular. The making of sugar skulls is actually a European tradition as well and can also be traced back to Palermo.
