Abstract
The main purpose of this project is to examine the outcome of the recently announced merger of two manufacturing companies, Dent-Y Inc. and Sir-X Inc. that operate in the dental equipment market.
Dent-Y Inc. is a leading manufacturer and distributor of dental and other consumable medical device products for the professional dental market. Headquartered in the United States, company has global operations with sales in more than 120 countries.
Sir-X Inc. is the dental technology leader, developing and manufacturing a complete line of dental products. Company has served dealers and dentists worldwide for more than 130 years.
The proposed transaction will create the world’s largest manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies with scale and breadth across all major geographies and competitive offerings in each of the major dental categories.
This project is focusing on the examining of the available financial information of these two public companies for the fiscal periods ending 2012, 2013, and 2014. The main task is to analyze the financial data in order to outline the effect of the merger, and to develop business recommendations for the future company’s success in a highly competitive market.
