Today I had a brief interview with Mrs.Jessica Aliff and we covered a few topics about what a dental office would be looking for in a good dental assistant. We covered topics such as Mrs. Aliff’s ability to work with clients, her own personal hygiene and the importance for a dental office to know her oral hygiene How Mrs. Aliff handles an office environment and working with others, and lastly the importance of understanding medical terminology in both written and oral communication. In each category Mrs. Aliff has one to two questions about each category that she provides me answers for.

A position as a dental assistant can be both challenging and rewarding, and potential employers want to make sure that you are fully prepared to handle a big range of responsibilities on regular basis. They want to make sure you are well educated on how things work in a dental office. If its minor things that you don't know and they are able to train you to know those things then thats what they will do to get you at a level of perfection. No dentist will have hire someone who they know is not fit for the job. Even if you get hired and they need to train you on the little things, they know you have potential.
Dental assisting is the perfect job for someone who doesn't mind getting a little bloody. Which is why I studied it in High School for four years. It is a very fun job and you learn so much that you wouldn't even imagine. Dental assisting has it perks but also some down falls. If you like helping people for the right reasons and not car about getting a little messy then this job is for you. But if you cant handle strong odors, blood, needles, and a lot of noise then this job is not for you. But overall working with kids and adults was perfect because you learn different peoples backgrounds and having that persons tell you when your doing something wrong and learn the right way feels great.
