TERMS OF CONTRACT
Department Zero Brand Ambassador Handbook o Handbook - I agree that I have received, read and understand everything in the Department Zero Brand
Ambassador Handbook.

Staffing Responsibilities o Obligation - You are not obligated to accept any work or job Department Zero may offer to you. It is up to you to accept the contracted position offered. Once it is accepted, it is expected that you will honor the contract, and these terms.

o

Cancellation - If you agree to work a promotion on behalf of Department Zero and cancel within forty-eight hours of the event time, you will not be scheduled for future work. In addition, cancellations received after this 48-hour window are treated as “no-shows.”

o

No Shows – You will not be scheduled for future work, and we reserve the right to withhold pay from previous promotions worked for Department Zero if you are a “no show” at any promotion.

o

After Hour Issues – Please contact Department Zero immediately with any issues! Call the main office line
816.283.3333 Monday through Friday, 8a.m. – 5p.m. You must call Kondra Gibson-Dingle or Aaron Welch directly for anything that arises outside of normal business hours. Emails or texts are not acceptable.

o

Timeliness - You must arrive at your scheduled promotion on time which is 15 minutes before the start of an event or unless otherwise directed. Department Zero reserves the right to send home, without pay, any staff members who arrive late.

o

Attire – You must be wearing the appropriate attire (stated via email prior to each promotion). Department
Zero reserves the right send home, without pay, any staff members who do not abide by the attire requirements. If you are unclear or unsure of the requirements, ask for clarification before the event.

o

Professionalism - You are expected to act professionally at all times while working a Department Zero promotion. Smoking, profanity, inappropriate comments/gestures, use of alcohol or drugs, or insubordination will not be tolerated, and will result in immediate dismissal without pay.

o

Event Equipment - You are responsible for keeping track of all equipment provided for your promotion unless we specify otherwise. We will notify you of those exceptions in your confirmation email. “Equipment” can include client property, and we expect you to treat and protect them as your own. We reserve the right to hold you responsible for any damage or losses to client property, and reserve the right to withhold pay to cover these damages.

Expense Reimbursement - Department Zero may provide reimbursement on certain items you may need to purchase in order to perform the functions of your promotion. DO NOT ASSUME YOU WILL BE
REIMBURSED ON ANY OR ALL PURCHASES. Any purchase you would like to receive reimbursement on must be approved in advance by Department Zero. Mileage to and from a promotion WILL NOT be reimbursed. If you have items that are approved for reimbursement, original receipts must be faxed or turned in to Department Zero within 5 days of the promotion. Please contact the Staffing Department at

Payment Requirements

o

If a promotion is paid on a flat rate basis, (day rate or other) you are being paid to complete the promotion.
An estimated time frame will be given, but if it runs longer or shorter, you are expected to complete the job.

o

If a promotion is paid hourly, you are not guaranteed minimum or a maximum pay. If weather or other conditions exist and the promotion is cut short or cancelled on arrival, you will be not be paid unless decided otherwise by Department Zero. All
