Alternative Ways to Treat Depression and Anxiety

Do you want to know a more natural, alternative way to treat depression and/or anxiety? Research is growing in the U.S. about different ways to help the symptoms of these mental illnesses. Currently, there are many ways like relaxation, exercise and diet, etc. Many people are turning to other ways because medications have to many side effects, the medications don’t work well for them and they just prefer a more natural way of being treated. Many people have had great results with alternative ways and I have some testimonials to show individuals thoughts. Also, what will be researched and studied in 20 years. More research needs to be done to see what works. Some individuals with depression and anxiety have therapists. In the future, with busy schedules mobile devices will be able to assist therapists talking to individuals who need someone. There could be software for people to use that is less expensive and available 24/7. Depression and anxiety will most likely never be cured but hopefully better managed. There needs to be more educated and specialized therapists in this area of mental illness (Nemko, 2014). I hope researchers find more ways for individuals to have better managed depression and anxiety. Or, develop medications that have less side effects and be able to test some how what medication would work best for them. Alternative ways can be healthier and reduce the symptoms of these mental illnesses. If more research is done, maybe more doctors would be willing to prescribe exercise and better diet over medications.
In conclusion, more people are starting to use alternative ways to help with depression and anxiety. Each person has certain ways to help them. One individual might use exercise and the next might use yoga. If not able to just use an alternative way at least have it a combination with a medical

This website contributes to my paper because it gives a personal story of someone using and alternative method, which is exercise to help treat her mood. Klinger talks about her struggle with feeling empty inside but looking happy on the outside. When she started to exercise, this helped her mood and she gave herself goals.
