I think poetry is a way to describe a snapshot in life. It is a unique and abstract way of thinking about a picture in one’s mind. It follows its own rhythm and don’t have to be aligned with a specific format (unless you’re writing a haiku). Poetry seems to be an easier type of writing to express feelings about something. Unlike normal writing, in poetry words don’t have to make as much sense. Normal writing can be so restricted sometimes while, in poetry, you could just plug in any word that flows. Poetry is the words that come deep down in your heart to describe something. The words in poetry seem to have more feeling and meaning than prose. It is a different way of seeing the world.
