In the setting if a child has been showing positive behaviour we will make sure that we praise the children each time so they will feel respected. For each child will have set boundaries of behaviour to ensure that they are safe and the other children in the room are also safe. The nursery aims to set the boundaries which could help the children understand why their behaviour effects them and the children around them.
Describe with examples the importance of all staff consistently and fairly applying boundaries and rules for children and young people’s behaviour in accordance with the policies and procedures of the setting-
It is important when working with children that all staff make sure that they consistently and fairly apply the same boundaries and rules to each child. For example one key worker may not think it is necessary to praise or speak to the child about negative behaviour. If 2 children have been doing the same activity or fighting then the children should be treated equally.

Parents will be informed of the child’s inappropriate behaviour and if it is harming another child then it will be recorded. If the inappropriate behaviour continues the key person will collect a few observations on the child and where they seem to get frustrated and angry, for example another child taking what they are playing with. If the behaviour continues then the nursery will work with the parents to make sure that they are being dealt with in the most appropriate
