Mary contradicting Abigail leads to her “charging cold murder on Abigail”. This Is because of the idea that Abigail is trying to push the blame onto everyone but herself as a distraction. If Mary comes in and goes against Abigail she will be trying to force the blame back onto her.
5. Hale is viewed as a “broken minister” by John Proctor. Rather than supporting and encouraging the rights and liberties of the church, Hale is conforming towards the laws of the government. Hes belief in things such as a death penalty show his true colors as a minister and is the reasoning for being given this title. This lack of loyalty to his religious beliefs is what causes him to believe he is no longer a faithful minister.
6. When proctor says, “Vengeance is walking in Salem” He’s hinting at the idea that everyone is after each other. For one reason or another almost every person in Salem has a reason to dislike another person, and the witchcraft scandal is bringing more attention to the matter.
