Growing up my community is diverse, Pasadena California is a suburb of Los Angeles and the social demographics range quite evident. Northwest Pasadena is Home to John Muir High school, my former high school. John Muir high school has the reputation for being the worst high school in Pasadena. John Muir High school has been plagued with a violent pass and a track record for low test scores among students although the Rose Bowl stadium is only blocks away and is regarded as being the crown jewel of Pasadena. Although north west Pasadena00 has been gentrified over the past 10 years. There are still a powerful number of Latino and black owned stores, restaurants, and offices. The city of which I grew and my parents grew up is completely night and day when my mother shows me pictures of Pasadena in the the 1950's- to the 1980's. Pasadena was nearly a third of the population it is now and was home to rows and rows of orange groves. Pasadena now is pretty much developed to the point where the is 0 underdeveloped acres like there were 50 plus years ago. Pasadena now is big business due to the Rose Bowl use and the Downtown Pasadena shopping areas. Pasadena is an extremely wealthy city.

The representation of class in my community is showed vehemently, large houses, outrageously expensive cars. And expensive restaurants and night life. Pasadena has developed into a place designed for the wealthy educated and retiring community. Crime against elderly is very low, and the city is relatively quite around the clock. Pasadena is divided by wealth, but not on entirely different sides of the city. Many houses in Pasadena have historical value. So the neighborhood most of my friends grew up in cost too much for them to live, so their families relocate to Los Angeles and the inland
