Burnin It Down
Lake Chelan, a place where the blacktop ends and a new beginning starts. A defined place of peace similar to a heaven on earth. Many would agree, a romantic escape or getaway for couples seeking a beach vacation in a small town. A smaller version of the titanic roams the waters of Lake Chelan. The boat has two large diesel engines that propel the the massive boat, named Lady Of The Lake forward. The waves that trail behind the Lady of The Lake sum up every tuber and jet-skiers dream. If someone hit the wake, it would launch them ten feet into the air! The Lady of The Lake moves people and supplies to Stehekin (a small town at the end of the lake) and provides tourists with a stylish tour of the entire fifty-five mile long lake. Many mountain peaks surround the wonderful valley. In the spring-time, bordering mountains, typically topped with snow, drains into the lake. The jagged rock cliffs drop straight off into the clear mountain water. In the evening, the shadows dance over the clear water reflecting the peaks on the lake's surface. Every day a float plane flies low over the town and lands next to the high dollar speed boats preparing to race up the lake.

In stark contrast to summer, winter remains devoid of the noise and excitement, with few tourists and locals around. The hot summer weather brings numerous investigative tourists that enjoy the cool, clear, lake water. The classic Don Morse Park is right on the lake. During the summer, the park has tons of people swimming and camping in the RV park, congregating groups of people at the skatepark, and many people lounging in the sun by the beach. Lake Chelan always promises an exquisite getaway for tourists, and never disappoints with its breathtaking views.
