Desmond Tutu is said to be the world’s most spiritual leader. He was born on October 7, 1931, in Klerksdorp, South Africa. He managed to have a happy childhood even though he knew he was treated worse than the white people on nothing other than his skin color. When he was younger he was a curious and very bright kid and had a passion for reading. He is now eighty-six years old, and he is famous for an Anti-Apartheid Activist. Tutu was the first South African to receive the Nobel Peace Prize award since Albert Luthuli in 1960. In 1987, he was named the president of the All Africa Conference of Churches, a position he held until 1997. Tutu retired from public life in the late 1990’s. In 2007, Tutu joined The Elders, a group of experienced world leaders who meet to discuss ways to encourage human rights and world peace. Desmond Tutu wrote many books over the years including, No Future Without Forgiveness (1999), the children's title God's Dream (2008) and The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World (2016). Tutu was an inspiration to many people because of his accomplishments and he gave people inspiration and courage about things in life.
