In The Tale of Despereaux, there is an unusual hero, Despereaux Tilling the mouse. He possesses many qualities that make him a hero.
Despereaux’s first quality is willingness. He would do anything for Princess Pea. He demonstrates his conduct towards her on the knights that he reads about in books.
Another of Despereaux's aspects is adventurous. He overcame ghastly, frightening things like dungeons and rats to keep the princess safe. When Roscuro and Miggery Sow kidnap Princess Pea, Despereaux knew what he had to do.
Despereaux's third trait is determined. He wanted to save Princess Pea no matter what. Even though he was scared of the dungeon and mice, he still kept going.
