Detecting Media Bias I found myself reading several different articles about the murder case of Trayvon Martin in Florida. I was able to find MSNBC and use some of the information that was provided by their website. The story that is making headlines on here and other news outlets is the acquittal of George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman is a 28 year old man that lives in Sanford Florida who was on trial for killing 17 year old Trayvon Martin. The case ended on July 13, 2013 after a jury of his peers found him not guilty. This left some people upset with the judicial system as well as it made some people proud of the judicial system. But the story that is trending now about this case is the protests that followed the jury’s decision. The story that I have read are clear of reporting what is happening with the backlash of this court case. The reports are saying that people in different cities around the United States are making their opinions of this decision heard. The story reports with sufficient depth of how the protestors in Los Angeles shut down a major freeway for nearly an hour. It also tells of how the protestors threw rocks at the police and how the police fired beanbags at the crowds. I found that the story stated all the facts of exactly what was going on. The story does show different world views and alternative perspectives. The different world views that I read are the ones that are in
