In this time that they are inactive, they lose muscle mass and will have to train even harder than before just to get to where they were at the end of the previous season. It could be argued that sometimes it is appropriate to sit back and wait for something to happen. However, when a goal is truly desired, leaving the outcome to chance is simply not an option. Far too often, students do not study for tests even though they want to do well. When a student is unprepared for a test, he or she is aware that he or she may receive a lower score than desired. In this case, the student could have studied the night before the test, but because he or she chose to be inactive, the goal was not accomplished. If one has intentions of ever achieving a goal, it is pertinent for the individual to ensure that he or she is working towards that goal. Continuous motivation is key when working towards a goal. This being said, being inactive can potentially cause one to lose his or her motivation. For example, someone who is trying to lose weight may be on a healthier diet. In this case, inactivity could be eating a box of doughnuts. In the midst of enjoying delicious doughnuts, the desire to lose weight is lost and a new desire of eating another box of
