Why We Score Higher
Some of the causes of higher SAT scores could be simply because this generation of kids is smarter. With each passing year new things happen, and add to the history of our world. With more things happening, the quantity of knowledge increases, and therefore children need to learn more things than they used to have to in the older days. If the curriculum of the SAT scores is always the same every year then the scores of children taking the test is bound to go up eventually because children need to more things with the passing years, and if the curriculum stays the same and children are getting smarter, higher test scores would be a likely effect.
Parents might be another reason that scores are going up. The more a parent encourages a child, the more the child works. Also on that same basis, another reason test scores might go up is if parents do not encourage a child at all. When a child is in high school he/she is old enough to work for something, and work hard, when the child wants it. If a parent thinks that their child is a no-good spoiled brat who can’t do anything right and will most likely get a bad test score, then this might motivate a child to work harder and to prove that their parents are wrong, and that he/she is smart. In this world today there may be more parents like this than there were in the older days, so this may be a possible reason that test scores are going up.
