1. In your own words, why or how can this be seen as deviant or non-conforming behavior? Also discuss why some may not view this as a form of deviance?

I would like to address body piercing & tattooing in the United States. In America, body piercing and tattooing is seen as a deviance or non-conforming behavior by some people. The older generation believe that tattooing and body piercing are a sign of teenagers going through puberty. It can also be seen as the child rebelling against their parents or society. Depending on the individual or their culture, body piercing and tattooing may not be view as a form of deviance but an act to express themselves.

2. In your opinion, what are we doing right and/or wrong regarding this issue ? What solutions are sensible? Can you offer some solutions or ideas?

I indicated that body piercing and tattooing is not necessary a deviant behavior. Most people judge a person by their appearance and not who they are. A practical solution to this would be teaching kids in school to not judge a book by its cover. People should judge a person based on their action and what they say. For example, when a person without tattoo and a person with tattoo are interviewing for the same position. Then, the person without tattoo is more likely to get the job based on their first impression. Today, anyone who are eighteen years old or older can get tattoos and body piercing without their parents permission. I think that it’s inappropriate if they have a lot of tattoos and body piercing all over their body because it makes them look ridiculous. The government placed an age requirement on
