This paper explores and discusses the treatment of prostate cancer through the latest advancement in the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Diagnostic Medical Sonography is an imaging modality that uses high frequency sound waves to produce visual images of body organs and examine body parts including abdomen, heart, prostate, breasts, male and female reproductive systems, and blood vessels. Diagnostic Medical Sonography is progressively used in the treatment of variety of diseases of heart, blood vessels, and treating prostate cancer. Color Doppler Ultrasound is the most precise approach of measuring the blood flow in an organ or a gland. Ultrasound involves frequency of mechanical sound waves greater than 20 kHz and travels in a straight line. Pulses of sound waves are transmitted in the body through the transducer which reflect back to create an image. The transducer is a device that converts electrical energy into sound energy and reconverts sound energy into electrical energy when reflected by a soft tissue in the body. The components of the ultrasound system allows a sonographer to improve the image quality and acquire quality images without artifacts. Ultrasound has various properties and applications in the field of medicine. Ultrasound imaging is used for visualizing internal organs, measurements of their size, detection of pathology, and cleaning. Ultrasound has been consistently used in the analysis of variety of body systems including musculoskeletal, cardiology, obstetrics, gynecology, abdominal organs, vascular, breast examinations, urology, small parts, pediatrics, and other.
