After reading the chapters from Dick Rathgeber’s book that were assigned, I found the following to be key points in the chapter: use your connections, find middle ground and know the reasons for your involvement. The first chapter titled locate your natural allies discussed how any project of importance, significance to be exact, could not be “pulled off by a single person…nonprofit or charity depends on the combined efforts of like minded people.” In this chapter Rathgeber’s project was the building of hospitality houses near hospitals. In order to obtain enough money to build these hospitality houses Rathgeber used “logical allies.” These allies where people who would contribute money towards the project feeling as though they had more ownership
