Sometimes people are not what they seem. In the play Othello by William Shakespeare, Iago acts like he is Othello’s friend and that he is someone trustworthy. When Iago is alone, he reveals how he actually feels towards Othello. He states how he hates Othello because he heard that Othello has been sleeping with his wife. Shakespeare reveals Iago as a strategic, manipulating and unforgiving character though the use of metaphors, diction and personification.
