Did Reaganomics Truly Aided America's Society?

At the end of the day, the discussion of whether or not Reaganomics truly assisted America’s society as a whole is still being debated today. Many look at the economic policy as a godsend to the nation. Supporters claim that Trickle-Down economics helped the nations working class when they needed it the most, due to the inactivity and heavy-handed actions of the democratic party and it’s straining regulations. There was an increase in jobs, inflation was down, and people were able to go out and buy what they wanted on a market that was constantly fluctuating and changing. However, there is almost a vocal counter-argument that says that Reaganomics only served to worsen the state of America. To them, it was a blatant assault on poor and struggling: cutting the social programs that assisted these people only served to make their situation all the more problematic and dire. Others argue that Reaganomics served to destroy the American dream for little business owners; for it favored megacorporations and only assisted greedy fat cats that already had enough money, to begin with. …show more content…
A whole new cultural generation was born thanks to the policy. Media, entertainment, and whole ideologies were brought about thanks to the economic boom that was brought about thanks to Reaganomics. While it may have been a society that believed greed was good, it ultimately did serve to bring about a wave of educated young adults who were willing to become successful and further shape the state of the nation. However, it did have a serious effect on America’s working class and it did serve as a determinantal blow to many poor and disenfranchised
