The short stories “Charles” by Shirley Jackson and “the open window” by Saki are some interesting stories. Throughout the short stories there are many similarities and differences. Some similarities are the lies the characters tell, and how someone in the story falls for the lies. They are also similar in the way the characters use their words to manipulate others. These two stories also have many differences in them such as where the two different settings take place. Also, another difference would be how the two main characters lie about different things.
