Between the end of the 1800s and the beginning of the 1900s only a few pieces of technology are widely the same. The steam engine is heavily used in both time periods as a source of power for trains. Electricity is around in both times but is used and dispersed very differently in both times. After 1900 the united states pushed for providing electricity to everyone in the country no matter how secluded someone may be. This push came from the fact that the United States was far behind in this area compared to europe.
