Diltiazem is a Calcium channel blocker used to treat Arrhythmias. Initial dose is 0.25mg/kg IV bolus over 2 minutes. Subsequent dose of 0.35mg/kg IV bolus over 2 minutes. This is the only refrigerated med that my service carries. The only thing we use it for is A-fib. An alternative to this would be Metoprolol which is 2.5-5mg IV bolus over 2 minutes.

2. Succinylcholine is an adjunct to general anesthesia to facilitate tracheal intubation, and to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery or mechanical ventilation. It is a depolarizing skeletal muscle relaxant. Dose is 0.3-1.1 mg/kg IV, or 3-4 mg/kg IM. Ketamine could be used as an alternative. Dose is 1.5 mg/kg IV ,or 4mg/kg IM.

3. Lorazepam is a Benzodiazepine used for Status Epilepticus, Sedation, and help to decrease anxiety. Status Epilepticus dose Adult 4mg IV, Pedi 2mg IV. Sedation dose is 0.05mg/kg IV adult only. Anxiety dose is 0.025 mg/kg IV adult only. Diazepam could be used as a alternative. Status Epilepticus adult dose is 5-10mg IV, Pedi is 0.1-0.3mg/kg. Anxiety adult dose is 2-5mg IV.
