Some people feel that leaving can be beneficial for an individual in many ways. Others fee that the best thing to do is stay in one place for their entire life due to the fact that it is where they are comfortable. It is best for a person to leave and “spread their wings”. Leaving can allow someone to have more appreciation for certain things, can teach important life lessons, give opportunities that may have been previously unavailable, and can allow an individual to see things from a different point of view. Leaving or going away often makes an individual appreciate what they once had. I moved away from my mother when I was 14 years old. After being away for about a year I began to think about how grateful I once was. Another thing that I did not appreciate until I moved was the advantages of living in a house that was mostly tension-free. Being in a house where it feel like an argument is always a “pin-drop” away can be extremely stressful. The thing I not only appreciated, but missed most of all was the feeling of having a family unit. While living with my dad was not entirely bad, it never felt like we were a family. It always felt like I was only a visitor for an extended period of time. Moving away can also teach individuals important life lessons.
