In the Lord of the Flies, the kids become monsters and start separating groups. They start killing each other because there is no civilization on the island. When people are not civilized, they are in the widths of evil. Evil comes through the ones, who are most vulnerable to it with their position in life. I will be discussing facts about the 1972 Andes Flight Disaster, how they are alike, and how these topics are not alike. First, it was on October 13th, 1972, when a Uruguayan rugby team was going to play against a Chile team, they crashed because of the pilot making the mistake of how far they truly were. There was forty-five people on the plane, twelve of these people died after the crash. To continue, another five died the next morning, and one more died from an injury. There was only twenty-seven left and they were cold, hungry, and lost. (1972 Andes Flight Disaster). The survivors didn’t have cold-weather gear for the area. In the Lord of the Flies the pilot made the same mistake as the 1972 Andes Flight Disaster, “He must flown off after he dropped us” (Golding 8). The Andes Flight Disaster occurred because of the pilot flying off and crashing just like the pilot did for the Lord of the Flies. Another way they are the same is the rugby team and the little boys must survive. The rugby players probably ate all the dead bodies so they had to of killed their teammates, who was weaker. The boys on the island started killing also to but they had food. These two instances also show when all civilization is out of order the rules will be broken and can be the difference with surviving or dying. There is also differences to these
