Discourse Community of Conway Pediatric Plus, I’m interviewing A lady friend of my, Wanita Parker, that’s been a lead teacher and teachers’ assistant for the last six month. I’ve asked her general question on how they communicate to reach the common goal. Which is to help the children reach their utmost potential concerning their mental and physical health, and help them all live a normal life as they grow, and to even help develop early learning skills. Sounds good, now what about the type of environment is this place? A very healthy and concerned environment with the main idea to work together to help the children. Even being a predominately female workplace it can be a little dramatized but not horribly.

So, for Ms. Parker in the mind of swales she’s just in a discourse community because of the job, she was hired in and is now just a made member and is not a part of any speech community. Places like school, church, clubs, Family house are examples of discourse. But Family, is the only true speech community since your born into or adopted into this
