Discrimination In The Movie Crash

During the movie Crash you can detect the character Anthony had experienced a range of behaviors. He experienced these behaviors from what the role he portrays during the movie and what types of events occurred that impacted how others treat him and how he treated others.
In addition, you can discover that Anthony had exposed himself of having male privilege and power. Male privilege is when the male gender has the higher power than to those of the opposite gender. Their position has a higher power compared to females because by society, males have the status and they are in control. You can see oppression when Anthony acts on feeling as if the white female is being afraid of him and his friend when they saw each other. He had assumed that she put her arm around her husband because of their skin color, but doesn’t take the chance to think if it was for another reason. In this case, he wanted to show his power towards the couple, he took control and handled the situation in an unnecessary way. He has this judgment likely because he doesn’t want people from the outside staring at him. Along with, he might believe that those of the other race are better than him because they have enough money to afford a car and he doesn’t. This can be correlated with classism because he doesn’t have enough money for essential materials so he takes action and steals the car. But than again, you can see this when they try getting service at the food place. His judgment would be that whites can afford their meal, so obviously they would be getting their order taken care of.
