1. Why is there a new or renewed interest in the field of project management? There is a new or renewed interest in the field of project management because there are constantly new technologies coming out that are used in many different fields and success is dependent upon proper management. Project management helps to develop projects that are important to an specific group as a whole which only helps to improve things for the future. Companies have come to realize the amount of savings and quality that’s received from having project management which is the basis of most companies’ success.

2. What is a project, and what are its main attributes? How is a project different from what most people do in their day-to-day jobs? What is the triple constraint?
A project is a endeavor taken upon that creates a unique product, service, or result. The main attributes of a project are that it has a unique purpose, it’s temporary, developed using progressive elaboration, requires resources, must have a primary customer, and involves uncertainty. The difference between day-to-day jobs and projects is that projects are more diverse meaning they vary from large to small scale, personnel required an amount of time; day-to-day jobs usually tend to be few people which involves work that lasts days or years. Triple constraint is balancing scope, time, and cost goals.

3. What is project management? Briefly describe the project management framework, providing examples of stakeholders, knowledge areas, tools and techniques, and project success factors. Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. The project framework is scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement management. Examples of stakeholder: Potential Users, Knowledge areas: Server installation, Tools and Techniques: Hardware and Software required to perform tasks, and techniques to project activities: Experience performing tasks.
