1. What is diversity? Why is diversity valued?

Diversity is defined as the condition of having many different elements or backgrounds. Deversity is valued because nobody is the same as anyone else even if they are from the same race, heritage, belief systems, physical appearance or even customs. Many people tend to reject things or people that are different. Our differences is what can make us grow as a society or it can lead to hatred and violence.

2. What is ethnocentrism? In what ways can ethnocentrism be detrimental to a society?

Ethnocentrism is the belief of superiority in ones personal ethinic group and can also develop from religious or racial differences. Ethnocentrism is a major reason for hatred and arguments amongst members of different ethnicities, religious groups, and races in society.This can be very detrimental to society simply because everyone would think they were better than everyone else and there would be nothing but fighting and hatred. Emigration, which is by emigrants, is when someone leaves a country to settle in another. 4. What are some of the ways groups of people are identified?

There are a couple groups peope are identified into. There is racial groups which is a group that is set apart because of physical differences such as the color of their skin. There is also the group that set apart from others simply because of their national origin or distinctive cultural patterns. This group is called ethnic groups.
