1. What is diversity? Why is diversity valued?

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary (n.d.), Diversity means “the condition of having or being composed of differing elements”. Diversity in this day in time is valued simply because it brings different skills, education levels, cultures, and races. 2. What is ethnocentrism? In what ways can ethnocentrism be detrimental to a society?

According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary (n.d.), Ethnocentrism is “characterized by or based on the attitude that one's own group is superior”. Feeling that your beliefs are more superior to anothers can lead to anger, rescentment and mayhem. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary (n.d.), Immigration means “to enter and usually become established; especially : to come into a country of which one is not a native for permanent residence”. It is my understanding the immigration is described as long term permanent residence.

But that group would also have subgroups because there are Greek Orthodox and Russion Orthodox. Obviously under the gender category there are only male and female groups. Your ethnicity could be American, Asian, Hispanic/Latino, or African American. You could then segregate males and females by their ethnicity, race and religion. Then
