Diversity refers to people who have similar or different characteristics that define them as a person. Nowadays, diversity does not only include race, gender and ethnicity; it is has become broader and more inclusive. Diversity also encompasses religious belief, sexual orientation, age, work experience, disability, physical abilities, culture, and educational background. As the workplace become more diverse in seeking its relevance in the global economy; it is only inevitable for organizations to implement strategies and training to foster and maintain the inclusion of diversity of the workplace. It is up to management to understand and acknowledge and value their worker’s differences, and have policies put in place to prevent discrimination.
