In the last few weeks of observing the diversity in my community I noticed that in different areas it looks like that there is a separation of our people, while in others it is very multicultural. My daughter attends Trinity oaks elementary and it wasn’t until I had to the diversity field test that I realized that all the teachers are white. I found a graph that showed that the school is occupied with 87% white , 8% hispanic, and 5% black kids. Also in the same area I have went to chick fil a several times and I seen mostly white females and male workers; a Chinese girl and a few Hispanic females. Trinity looks like the rich area of Pasco county from observing the big houses, luxury cars, and schools. If we go down to Pinellas county …show more content…
From my observation I noticed that the males are always the ones making the food at the fast food restaurants and other. From observing the streets also noticed a lot more diversity a black male was pumping gas at gas station, a white male and Asian looking women were walking across the street, and then a group of greek boys also pulled up to the gas station. When I went to University mall in Tampa I noticed that most people that were shopping were black. The workers at champs were 2 spanish males and a black male. At the GiGi women clothing store there were 2 chinese women working. At the finishline there were 2 black males and 1 mixed race male. At the finishline in the gulf view square mall there was one Asian male, one black male, one mixed race female, and one white female. On television I noticed that different channels tend to try to draw different viewers. On Lifetime seems as most of their movies have white actors but on bet its more multicultural people. On Vh1 on the show love and hip hop they have a little bit of a diversity; with a cast of 28 black females, 14 Hispanic or of mixed race, 4 white females, 15 black males, and 6 spanish or mixed race.
