Do the American People have a Voice?
Many people line up sometimes for hours on Election Day to elect a president and senator that will represent their ideology and to do what is good for the people. Do the American people really have a voice in Washington D.C? Most people in fact agree that the American people do not have a voice. The American people do not have a voice in what to put in their mouth. Moreover, the American do not have the final say on who to elect as president. Lastly, the American people do not have a voice in what the tax money goes to.
The American people do not have the right to decide what to put in their mouth. President Obama made a promise to ‘immediately’ label GMOs, many people elected him because of this reason. A law called Monsanto Protection Act, which protect GMOs (genetic modified organisms) corporations from federal courts was signed by President Obama. The law states that a person cannot sue GMOs companies. In the United Sates it is not require for GMOs food to be label. A research showed that most of Americans do not know they are eating GMO foods. In fact studies show that Americans eat GMOs almost every single day without even knowing it.

The Electoral College consists of 535 elector from the states to form the two political parties. A study showed that many Americans dislike the Electoral College system. A study showed people dislike this system because the Electoral College in some states is required to elect the nominee of the political party in which the Electoral College members belong to. Another reason that many people do not like this system is that the candidates to the presidency put more attention to some states than the others. The candidates do not campaign much in states that always vote for the political party whom they belong. This makes the candidates to put less attention to what the people want in this
