B) Do you think children should follow the same religion as their parents?
Firstly, children shouldn’t follow the same religion as their parents as it is the child’s choice for which religion they choose to practise, not the parent’s choice.
Secondly, children should wait until they are older until they make a decision regarding which religion they will follow, as it is in adulthood when a person is educated about life and other religions and can make a justified decision on which religion they want to practise.
C) Explain how a Catholic upbringing can lead to, or support, belief in God.
Firstly, a child’s parents will have told them that God is true (which is part of their marriage vows) and a child believes what their parents tell them.
Secondly, a child that goes to Church will see so many people worshipping and praising God that the child is likely to think that God is real.
Thirdly, if the child goes to a Catholic school they would have RE lessons in which the teachers will tell the child that God exists and a child believes what their teachers tell them.
Fourthly, if the child is confirmed their belief will be supported by information learnt about God in confirmation lessons and the child could also have a religious experience when the bishop touches them.
D) “A Catholic upbringing leads children to believe in God”. Do you agree? For and Against.
For:
Firstly, a child’s parents will have told them that God is true (which is part of their marriage vows) and a child believes what their parents tell them.
Secondly, a child that goes to Church will see so many people worshipping and praising God that the child is likely to think that God is real.
Thirdly, if the child goes to a Catholic school they would have RE lessons in which the teachers will tell the child that God exists and a child believes what their teachers tell them.
Against:
A Catholic upbringing is bad as they have been brought up in an upbringing they have not chosen themselves.
Some people think that a Catholic upbringing can take away the basic human right to freedom of religion.
A Catholic upbringing may work against community cohesion as it may make the Catholic children think that the followers of other religions are wrong.

B) Do you think that miracles prove that God exists?
Firstly, miracles prove that God exists because miracles are events which appear to break a law of science and the only logical explanation of how this happened is God.
Secondly, as a Catholic I believe that Jesus is God’s son as only God’s son is great enough to have risen from the dead, which was a miracle.
C) Explain how religious experiences can lead to, or support, belief in God.
Firstly, religious experiences can lead to belief in God as if a person has a numinous they will feel the presence of something greater than them and the person is likely to believe that that presence is God. For Catholics, this is likely to happen when a person completes their confirmation and the bishop touches them.
Secondly, if a person has a conversion they will feel that God is calling them to do something and the feeling of being “born again” and therefore will clearly believe in him as they have had communication with God.
Thirdly, miracles can lead a person to believe in God because they are events which appear to break a law of science and the only logical explanation of how this happened is God, leading people to believe in Him.
Fourthly, if a person prays and believes that God is listening to their prayers then they will obviously be sure that God exists as they are in communication with Him.

Firstly, as a Catholic I believe that a numinous proves that God exists as one will feel the presence of something greater than them and that person is likely to believe that that presence is God. This may happen when a Catholic is touched by the bishop during their
