There are a lot of positive and negative sides to television and people have different opinions about it. A lot of people think there are many positive impacts on watching television. first david Nostbakken is going to give his positive opinion about television, then Ludovic Kennedy will his negative opinion and finally Kaitlyn Faith will give her positive opinion. The average person watches 28 hours of television per week

Firstly David Nosteakken will give his positive opinion about television. Nostbakken is an editor for the International Development Research Center in Ottawa, and he believes that television is a positive impact for many reasons. To start things off the first reason is... “Watching TV is like riding a bike. You don’t think about what you’re doing, but its really quite a complex process” What he means to say is that you don’t pay attention or realize about what you are doing, but you just do it. Just like as you would when you ride a bike. The Second situation is, “Children will stay in a room five or six hours at a time with television, while actually doing something else.” Nostbakken is referring to children doing other things as well as watching television, It’s like there multitasking. Finally, the last situation is “TV requires all the senses simultaneously” Nostbakken means you use all of the five senses, seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, and hearing while watching television.These are some of the reasons why David Nostbakken thinks that television has a positive impact.

Next, giving his negative opinion on television is Ludovic Kennedy. Kennedy is the British newsreader, TV presenter and interviewer. To begin with, one of the reasons why Kennedy thinks that television is a negative impact because “ A very great deal of nonsense has been written.” He is trying to say that there is no reason for people to be watching television, because there is more things you could be doing, that is more educational. Kennedy also said “ i think of television as being comparable to a long train journey. As one gazes vacantly out of the window, a succession of ever-changing images passes by.” meaning that you are watching the screen and you only can remember the most fascinating things you see, and you can’t remember the rest.
