There is controversial argument on the difference between United States and Dominican Republic based on lifestyle, culture, food and music. Despite that, the reality is, the two countries have few but very important similarities. Because of high rate of immigration in Dominican Republic, the Americans have developed better understanding of the culture and lifestyle (Rappoport, 2010). This cultural interaction brings better understanding of cultural diversity that promote learning. A clear and real difference between the two countries is that the USA’s area of coverage is wide while Dominican Republic is just a tiny island (Pons, 2011). The crisscross immigration leads to cultural difference that translate into music, food and lifestyle difference.
The American food is different from that of Dominican, for instance an American would prefer eating a big hamburger at lunch time together with soda and fresh fries. In the contrary, the Dominicans would prefer to eat meat, rice and beans at lunch time. In addition they would also have coconut candy,

The music, the lifestyle and the delicious food in both countries are wonderful especially when they are mixed because the people do enjoy the differences in culture, music, lifestyle, food etc. what can make the world an interesting place to live in is when there is differences in various aspects of life so that the people are not bored but keeps on moving from one country to another to appreciate one’s culture. The US and Dominican Republic are sharing the same continent but the differences can encourage interaction between them. Finally it is paramount to give a remark that despite the difference in nationality, people should respect and appreciate cultural diversity and should be ready to share and learn from the cultural differences with others.
