The Dominican Republic has a very interesting culture. This country, founded in the 1600s, is filled with artists, musicians, and authors. For example, one of the most famous painters, Elsa Nunez, is from the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic’s art, music, and literature are very unique. There are lots of Artists that come from the Dominican Republic. Jaime Colson, born 1901-1975 was an amazing artist. Jaime was one of the first to find the school of Dominican Republic paintings. Colson unfortunately died at age 74 of a disease called the pulmonary edema. Next, Candido Bido 1963-20011 was born a natural artist. Bido was the first ever Dominican Republic artist to have an exhibition in France. Candido even taught at the National School or Arts, where he was a professor. First Juan Luis Guerra grew up knowing he would be a musician. Juan has sold about thirty million hits, and has won a great amount of awards such as the three Latin Grammy Awards, and two Grammy Awards. Juan attended Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, where he studied philosophy and literature.
