Story and Plot: 1945, Italian-American lavish wedding reception of Don Corleone’s daughter provided sanctuary for the community to honor a long-standing Sicilian tradition. Wedding guest and colleagues could ask for favors with no cost attached that day. Don Corleone is the protector of his community, or rather the muscle, though usually at a cost, and not always cash, he redeemed many forms of payment. Nothing was too good for the Don, the community would give the last and the best of everything they owned just to be protected from rival thugs. The sense of belonging made the difference, in communities in the 1940’s and 1950’s. The Don's goal is to increase the family business, taking over territory from the rival New York crime families
