People should read Donna Tartt's The Secret History because for one, her characters are extremely well drawn, making you feel as if the reader has known them their entire life. She also mixes in supernatural elements in a way that does not take away from the plot of the story, but enriches it. This book is not so much a “who done it,” but a “why done it.” The characters in this novel are carefully calculated by the author, and the relationship among the main characters is entirely believable.
