Donte Reading Summary

Donte has not met his previous reading comprehension goal of increasing his comprehension to 70% accuracy in 3 out of 4 trials given grade level reading material. He is currently working at a. 56%(baseline) taken from five assessments in English on short stories. His baseline data on reading skills on nonfiction text is at a 48% taken from 3 out of 4 assessments in the content area. Current work samples in the area of reading comprehension indicate that Donte continues to score below the class and average. When given two short story diagnostic assessments in the fall of 2015 that required Donte to answer a variety of comprehension questions (literal, inferential,) Donte scored a 5/12 (42%) which placed him below the class average of 58%.
