Gatorade is a popular sports drink that was invented in 1965 by Dr. Robert Cade, who is one of the most appreciated sports icons of all time. According to lemolson.mit.edu, Robert was born on September 26, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas, and died on November 27, 2007 in Greensville, FL. Robert went to the University of Florida, and took medical classes, Robert was a nephrologist. Robert was also a talented teacher and violinist, and he would play the violin for sick patients. Robert did invent Gatorade, but he also invented other popular drinks and popsicles. According to history.med.ufl.edu, he was also an avid collector of Studebakers. He wrote poetry as well as an autobiography titled Freut Euch Des Lebens, which in English means “Enjoy Life”. According to history.med.ufl.edu, Robert had 4 sisters “Anna, Josephine, Susannah and Ellen”.
