In Margaret Edson’s play W;t protagonist Dr. Vivian Bearing can be seen making a noticeable change in attitude that seems to give her peace in her final days of life, showing the importance of dying in peace mentally and physically. On page 71 of the play, when Dr. Kelekian asks Dr. bearing if she is in pain she responds by saying “Yes, I’m in goddamn pain.
